About the Role
Degas is seeking a highly analytical and strategic Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager to lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning initiatives. This role is crucial in driving financial insights and ensuring that financial goals align with overall business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial modeling, business analytics, and performance management, working cross-functionally with key stakeholders to drive financial efficiency and operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the creation of consolidated annual reports for both the Japanese holding company and the Ghanaian operational company in collaboration with auditors, accountants, and the Finance team.
- Own the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring accurate financial planning across multiple entities.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic initiatives, scenario analyses, and investment decisions.
- Perform in-depth variance analysis to assess performance against budgets/forecasts, providing actionable insights.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
- Partner with department heads to align financial goals with operational strategies, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
- Identify and implement process improvements in financial management, planning, and reporting.
- Provide financial insights to support M&A activities, capital allocation, and risk management.
You Could Be a Great Fit for This Role If You Have the Following Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or accounting roles, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership capacity.
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis.
- Fluency in English and Japanese (both written and spoken).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and presentation abilities, with experience translating financial data into business insights for non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
- Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, ACCA, or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
- Experience working with IFRS and Japanese GAAP accounting standards.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in financial planning, tax, and corporate governance.
- Proficiency in strategic cost management and financial risk assessment to drive profitability.

Location
This role is REMOTE (with a strong preference for Tokyo, Japan), with travel required to potential investor offices worldwide, Degas’ HQ in Tokyo, Degas’ regional offices, and partner sites as needed.
